What could be called a hub of national treasures or better known as the Valley of the Sun, Phoenix is certainly in the midst of adventure. While the city itself is enough to attract visitors, it is surrounded by over 200 golf courses, national monuments, state parks, and other repeat must-dos. The climate of Phoenix is ideal for outdoor excursions, from zoos to botanical gardens, parks, to mountain ventures. There is no reason to be stuck at home with the frontier just outside the door.
Beyond the nearby Grand Canyon, Meteor Crater, the Petrified Forest, and the Painted Desert, Phoenix itself is a treasure trove of sites for those living in the city or just passing through. One example is the Phoenix Botanical Gardens that features an extensive collection of agave and cacti plants, 50,000 of them in 379 species overall. They also offer lectures on desert landscaping and horticulture, for those trying to tame their property for planting. If more interested in what flies above rather than what grows below, the Phoenix Bat Cave may be an adventure needed to have. There is a storm drain where 10,000 to 20,000 bats stop on their migration in Phoenix. It's a bit difficult to find but, well worth the journey to see thousands upon thousands of bats fill the night air.
With bat migrations filling the night air, all one needs now is a castle ... which Phoenix has several of. One, in particular, is the Mystery Castle. Built over 15 years, not much is known about the builder. Boyce Luther Gulley suddenly left his job, wife, and 1-year-old child to build it after disappearing for three years. It's certainly a mysterious place, made from mortar, cement, goat's milk, automobile parts, and other odds and ends. Speaking of mystery, there is an art installation in the Phoenix Art Museum by near-forgotten artist Yayoi Kusama. The "You Who Are Getting Obliterated in the Dancing Swarm of Fireflies" is a full-immersion piece where visitors walk into a magnificent, almost galaxy like space, challenging their sense of self and space.
Phoenix is home is a lot of things but, if your home has become the site of insect invaders, why should you miss out on all the wonders around you. Having a Pest Gnome account or mobile app takes the pests off your plate so you can enjoy the full range of Phoenix adventures.
You can schedule, modify, cancel, and find an array of Phoenix pest control professionals to provide on-going preventative services as well as ridding your home of infestations. Bugs and rodents should be encountered on your adventure, not after it's over.
